Well……Hello there loves. It’s been a hot minute and I am somewhat embarassed to be typing this. However, we are here and if you have followed my socials for a while you know this space is my first baby and will always be home so welcome or welcome back. So much has changed over here ….…2 babies in, living out of the city, obsessing with wellness, navigating adulthood as a single woman and so much more – I must say i have got a lot to gist you.
As I slowly dip my feet into the water, I will go easy on the gist. I wanted to share with you guys a quick natural immune boosting shot that I have been loving for about two years now. Over two years ago, I found myself being more intentional about my wellness journey (I’ve written about a few articles which you can read HERE and HERE) and I must admit, being intentional feels so good. These shots have been staving off colds for me for a long time now and I recently started giving my 7 and 2 year old a dose of this and its working pretty well for us.
HOW TO MAKE IMMUNE BOOSTER SHOTS
I believe these immunity shots are really easy to make. All you need to do is peel your lemons (and oranges if you wish), take the skin off of the turmeric, ginger, and garlic. Once everything is peeled, you can cut them down into small enough chunks to fit into your blender. Add all of the ingredients, including the black pepper and the honey, add some water and blend. Use a strainer to sieve and get all of the pulp out. Strain the juice into a glass jar or glass container with a lid. I like to store mine in shot jars so it’s easy for me to take one shot a day.
WHAT IS A NATURAL IMMUNE BOOSTER SHOT
Immune booster shots are filled with citrus like lemons, lime and oranges. They also have ginger, turmeric, and garlic in them which all have amazing health benefits.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED
There are so many different recipes for natural immune booster shots but my go to is the basic Turmeric & Ginger shot with the best part about this immune booster recipe is that the ingredients are easy to find. Here is what you will need:
- Lemons
- Oranges (I find these optional and always add them if I have them on hand, lemons are my go to)
- Ginger
- Turmeric
- A dash of black pepper
- A clove Garlic (I add garlic once in a while because I prefer to swallow mine (Yup, I know it’s disgusting for most) but with its benefits, you can surely add it to your shot.
- Honey
I’ve been using my juicer in the past months, and in this case I just throw all the ingredients in the juicer and once I have the juice done, I add the black pepper to the mix.

HEALTH BENEFITS
All the ingredients in the immunity shots are beneficial to immune health. The citrus provides a great dose of vitamin C which is excellent for immunity support.
Ginger is one of the best roots on the planet when it comes to its multitude of health benefits. Gingerol is the main compound found in ginger. It has a very powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory component. Ginger has also been used for thousands of years, especially in Ayurveda for alleviating nausea, vomiting, and a variety of other stomach issues and digestion so it’s perfect for consumption after a large meal.
Turmeric, just like ginger has similar properties. Turmeric can increase the antioxidant capacity in the body, protecting it from free radicals which in theory can lead to a slowing down of the aging process (and we all love some good natural anti-aging right). Curcumin is the main ingredient in turmeric and it’s this compound that helps to prevent a number of conditions. However, Curcumin alone isn’t easily absorbed into the bloodstream which is why it’s often recommended to take it with black pepper which helps it to be absorbed. It is a must to get all the benefits from the ginger turmeric shot.
If you have been following me on Instagram, you know I’ve been taking these shots long enough – if I hadn’t convinced you before to incorporate these shots into your daily routine, then I hope this has. And here’s to being intentional and living well, one habit at a time.
Love as always,
