For those who know me well know i take my birthday very seriously, i just wonder what will happen on my wedding day – so imagine Maya cancelling her birthday. WOW – that came as a shocker to me as well but i had made up my mind and nothing was about to change it, unless somebody surprised me with something which they did fortunately. I have the best family ever and friends – and i mean ever (and the best readers of course – you guys are the bomb dot com). So after i had cancelled my reservation, i kept on thinking how i had promised to share pictures of the day with you guys and i can’t deal with breaking promises but all i can say is God got me 🙂 and here we are.
My day started off with the normal routine of work blah blah blah and my first highlight of the was the bouquet of flowers with wine and chocolate i received at the office from my one and only. Later in the evening i had dinner at The Lawns restaurant which is one of my favorite places with my close friends and family. We missed you Papa G. My little sister Amiina managed to put everything together and having an all black dress code, which a few people were hesitant about at first but Hellllooo…”Its My Birthday”. The black absolutely complemented my all white outfit. PS: This was supposed to be a surprise dinner, which i think i knew everything about except the location and the cake – that was surprise enough. I am not a control freak but i like to have everything on my birthday under control so surprises do sit really well with me. I happen to share a birthday with one of my sisters Fiona and t happens two of my friends happen we born a day before me – so this was a quadruple celebration.
Am i the only person who never eats cake on my birthday? I prefer it the next day, and this time there was plenty of cake for me to feed on for the next two weeks – seriously. One was from my very gifted friend NattyBoo of The Food Library, be sure to check her out if you ready for some real good staff. Thank me later or just deliver my fave.
It was a night filled with laughter, joy…….should i continue with all that mushy staff? Naaahh. All i can say is it was a blissful night.
It’s sad to have November ending in a few days.
