For my first ever Kampala Fashion Week Red was the perfect color to make a statement. If you had asked me what outfit i had in mind, trust me i would have never said anything red – it would have been something neutral of course. Another pleasure i had which i was excited to share with you guys was the fact that i was dressed by a Rwandan designer called Sonia Mugabo (excuse my excitement, i have never been dressed by anyone) and besides this is one super talented lady. Jumpsuits are definitely my thing as you have seen in some of my previous posts that you can check out Here and Here. I am quite particular with my clothes just as i am with my food so for someone to study my style and get it right is very fascinating especially with a bold color like red. PS: I haven’t met Sonia personally she made her choice of clothes after she checked out my blog and studied my style. One word for her is WOW and i will definitely be working with her again.
The evening was a bit chilly and involved a lot of walking which made the jumpsuit the perfect fit as i was covered up, comfortable and did’t have to worry about any slips.
I decided to accessorize with gold, a pair of black pointed toes, and a small beige purse with some black details. I thought the purple lip was the best for the outfit as red would have been too cliche and y’all know i have been digging a purple lip of late. I kept my braids up in a bun as usual – i need to get out of this comfort zone though.
